Task files to sync with files in projects
It would be useful if we had the option to attach a file to a to-do (which is possible) AND have the said file also appear in the files section of the project. Right now you’ll have to upload the file twice if you need to have it in both places.
Another option (maybe a more flexible one actually) would be the option to generate a link from a file and attach that to the to-do (or anywhere else you need to link the file to, like a note for example).

One thing we are thinking about is a function inside To-do app to link any file under it automatically to the selected files app. What do you think about this @jjoe ?

So if I add a file to a to-do, it’ll also be added to the files app within the same section, space, or folder? Yes, that would be good.
This brings up another question actually: Could we have unified file storage within a space or section so that it would follow a logical folder structure that trickles down to the folders and files apps? This inherited permission control combined with the ability to create a link from a file or folder would allow for wider linking of files and potentially avoid the need to upload multiple copies of the same file. Also, if one could choose to replace a file instead of uploading it again and deleting the old one (as editing a file that has been uploaded is not possible), this would also allow for better control of file versioning since there would be no confusion of the most recent, up-to-date file (provided the link stays the same).
Ok that was more than one question, sorry about that. I also realise these may be quite advanced (and maybe niche) requests, but thought I’d note them down anyway.

This is a great suggestion, thanks a lot for sharing - this is a thing traditional PM software to great and something we are also working on making it work well inside liftOS 🙌
